FIFA CRISIS: EX- PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA, THABO MBEKI APPROVED THE DONATION OF $10MILLION

South Africa's Sports Minister Fikile Mbulula confirms that the decision to donate $10 million to FIFA for the development of Carribean football was approved by the then president Thabo Mbeki.
The payment is central to the FIFA scandal though South Africa denies it was a bribe to secure 2010 World Cup.
A letter has emerged showing South African officials seeking an indirect route for the transfer of the $10 million but South African government has said the letter does not contradict its statement that the payment was a legitimate payment.
US prosecutors however say the money was a bribe to FIFA officials.
Seven top officials  were arrested in Switzerland last week as they waited for FIFA congress.
They were among the 14 new indictments in the US investigation which alleges they accepted bribes and kickbacks.
Four had been charged earlier among them ex-FIFA official Chuck Blazer who has pleaded guilty in the United States to taking bribes related to South Africa bid.
