Hugo Boss apologised today for using forced workers during world war two. A new book published this week revealed the companies ties with the nazis and claimed that 40 of the workers were French prisoners of war.
The company manufactured uniforms for the Waffen SS, a branch of the nazis in the late thirties and started using forced workers in 1940. The company issued a statement on their website this afternoon :
" (Hugo Boss) expresses its profound regret to those who suffered harm or hardship at the factory run by Hugo Ferdinand Boss under National Socialist rule".
After the war Boss was tried and fined for his involvement.
